This has been a memorable morning for Joe and I. We went to the doctor to have another ultrasound to see if Lily had been inspired to flip around. Given the headbutts on the top of my stomach that we were watching at 11PM the night before, we weren't terribly optimistic. As we suspected, she is quite comfortable sitting like a little Buddha on her bum.
As it turns out, she may have run out of room, as she is estimated before fat accumulation at 8 pounds 6 ounces! This helps me understand why I've been so unbelievably uncomfortable and why I look like I ate Manhattan.
We thought we'd be discussing dates with the doctor for the c-section. I thought Friday the 21st sounded good. But she came in the room and announced that she has us scheduled for this Saturday at 2PM.
I started laughing. Joe's eyes got really wide and his mouth opened. I don't think I'll ever forget looking at him in that moment. SATURDAY? As in, 4 days from now? THIS Saturday?
Yes indeed. November 15th. Sounds like a solid birthday to me.
And as my stepmother put it: 2PM is such a civilized time to come into the world.
Originally I was extremely disappointed to be having a c-section. But I'll tell ya, having a date and a time scheduled is right up my alley.
There's lots to do. I will post pictures as we finish preparing the house. And I promise to post some so that out of towners can see just how giant I am. Prepare to be astounded.

I am so excited for the arrival of Lily Karlie, I cried when I read your email! I can't begin to tell you how excited your dad is and how much it meant to him that you used francines name with the baby! I love you and Joe very much!

She is so gorgeous! I am so happy to here everything is ok with you Karlie and Lily, I am sure you all are exhausted. I am so happy to be an Aunt again. Joe looks great looks like Lily is going to be daddy's little girl! I love you guys very much!
